Services are held for Richard Robert Stone
DOWNEY-Funeral services were held March 10 at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier for Richard Robert 
Stone, a 50 year resident of Downey. 
He was 78, and died March 8 at Downey Regional Medical Center with his son and daughter by his side. 
He loved deep sea fishing, was a dedicated Bible student and lecturer, and had a wonderful sense of 
humor, with a special calling for the aged and ill. 
All of his children went through the Downey school system and all graduated from Warren High School. 
Survivors include his son, Brad Stone (Mary); a daughter, Margie Brinkerhoff (Charlie), both of Downey; 
six grandchildren, Heather (Brinkerhoff) Ladson (Paul) of Chino, Shannon (Brinkerhoff) Payne (Greg) of 
Cardiff, Tabitha Brinkerhoff of New York City, Benjamin Brinkerhoff of UC-San Diego, Lianne Stone and 
Tina Stone of Downey; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Abigail Ladson. 
He was preceded in death by a son, David in 1968 and his wife, Marge in 1991.
