Lucy Mary "Bunny" Stovall was born to Agnes 
and Septimus Chippindall on Oct. 27, 1913, in 
Alameda and passed away in Bakersfield on 
May 11.
Bunny lived in Sonora for more than 35 years, 
where she was very active in community 
organizations. She was a founding member of 
the Sonora Community Hospital Auxiliary and 
logged thousands of hours of volunteer service 
spanning 35 years. She lived in Tehachapi in 
the late 50s and early 60s and again from 
December 2000 until her death. Bunny was a 
member of the Guild of Tehachapi Hospital and 
the Newcomers Club.
Bunny is survived by her sons and daughters-
in-law, Jim and Jody Watkins of Tehachapi and 
Alan and Julie Stovall of Mt. Shasta; step-
daughters, Lynda Chittenden of Mill Valley, 
Betty Jo Balys of Salem, Ore. and Dana Brown 
of Sacramento. She is also survived by nine 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, 
Dennis Stovall. 
Heuton Mortuary, Sonora, handled the 
arrangements. A memorial service will be held 
in Sonora.
