The Downey Eagle April 27, 2001 Volume 9 Number 10 Many grieve for Downey's George Joseph St. Pierre DOWNEY-Graveside services will be held today (Friday, April 27) at 10 a.m. at the All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach for George Joseph St. Pierre, a security guard for many years and a longtime resident of Downey. He was born Feb. 9, 1923 in Rhode Island, and died April 23 at his Downey home. He enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve during World War II but was honorably discharged after it was discovered he was too young. Survivors include his daughter, Janet A. St. Pierre-Jones; a brother, Anthony St. Pierre; grandsons Richard J. and Scot W. Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was very close to nephews Michael Spaziano and Ronald Flamion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence in 1996. Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
