All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. "Big Bear Grizzly"; Thursday, March 13, 2008 William "Bill" A. Sturdy 89, passed March 6, 2008, in Alburquerque, New Mexico. A former resident, building contractor and a volunteer fireman for Big Bear City from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, Bill was a licensed pilot and loved to fly his airplane and was an active member of the First Baptist Church. He retired and moved to Arizona in the mid 1980s and late to New Mexico in 1989. Bill is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eddythe; daughters Marguerite Zechiel of Fountain Valley and Madeline Zaharias of Big Bear City; three sons, Mike of Big Bear City; John and James, both of Alburquerque, New Mexico; plus 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He has gone home to his lord.
