Mojave Desert News; 23 Mar 1950

Fatally injured in an automobile accident near Lancaster was Mrs. Nellie 
Gertrude Sutton mother of Mrs. Albert "Apple" Cappello. The accident occurred 
Mar.18 at 8:45 p.m. when the driver, James Davis, lost control of the car when it 
hit the soft shoulder of the road. The car slid broadside throwing the occupants out. 
Mrs. Sutton was taken to the Lancaster Hospital where she died a few hours later.
Mrs. Sutton had been staying at the home of her daughter for a few months 
aiding in the care of her new granddaughter,
O'Donnell Funeral Home was in charge of the remains, which were shipped to 
Oklahoma City for burial. Mr. and Mrs. A. Cappello left on Monday for that city 
where they will attend the funeral.
