Taylor, a longtime resident of California City, California, passed away at his home on June 5, 2003. Doug was born August 5, 1952 in Montebello, California. He worked as an avionics electronics technician for NASA and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969 to 1970. On September 9, 1995 Doug married Priscilla "Sim" in Lancaster, California. Doug had a passion for coaching girl's softball and spent many years coaching, managing and umpiring teams in California City. He could be found every Saturday at the ball field. He would often tell Sim that he was going to take her out to dinner and a show, which usually meant a softball game and a hotdog. Doug was a devoted husband to Sim who survives him. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and leaves behind six children; daughters Brande, Rachael, Casie and Pennie; and one son. Jimi. Doug's son C.J. preceded him in death. Seven adoring grandchildren called Doug, PaPa; Daniel, Jordan, Taylor, Shadow, Jared, Kylee and Drake. Doug is also survived by five sisters; Madylne, Beverly, Marilyn, Nancy and Norma and one brother, Richard. Doug was an exceptional man who was loved by many. He touched so many hearts in so many ways. He will never be forgotten but will be loved and remembered always. We love you, Doug, Your family and friends.
