The Downey Eagle June 1, 2001 Volume 9 Number 15 Friends, family mourn Martha Ann Taylor DOWNEY-Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at the Wiefels and Son Mortuary Chapel i n Banning for Martha Ann Taylor, who died peacefully in her sleep May 28 at the Downey Retirement Center. She was born in Richland County, Ohio on Oct. 26, 1906, and attended school there until the age of 15. She moved to Washington, D.C. in 1921 where she completed her education and took a job with Southern Railway, where she met her husband, William L. Taylor in 1927 and started a family. They moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1946. When her husband died in 1951 she and the children moved to Southern California. She lived in Banning, Riverside, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Orange and Downey. She attended the Garden Grove Crystal Cathedral for more than 43 years. Survivors include her three sons, Ted B. Taylor, Sr. of Pico Rivera, Robert C. Taylor of Garden Grove, William G. Taylor of Bermuda Dunes; a daughter, Nancy Jeanne (deceased); five grandsons, Bruce, Jeffrey, Mark, Clark and David; a granddaughter, Debbie (deceased); and three great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Nicole and Sara, and a sister, Virginia Bellinger of Santa Monica. Dr. Kenneth N. Leestma of the Crystal Cathedral will officiate. Arrangements are by the Wiefels & Son Funeral Directors of Banning.
