All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; Date Unknown Miss Irene Margaret Terhaar, 90, passed away in Arvin on September 19. Miss Terhaar was born to her parents Herman and Mary Terhaar on July 7, 1909 in New Munich, Minnesota. She was a resident of Kern County since May of 1991. Miss Terhaar's professional career spanned a period of 20 years as a secretary with the government in the Central In- telligence Agency. She was a world traveler including the European Theater after World War II, Switzerland and Germany, as well as Japan and Korea. Miss Terhaar is survived by two sisters, Ethel Ganzfried and Edith Terhaar, former residents of Tehachapi who recently moved to San Luis Obispo; brother, Jerome Terhaar of Del Ray Beach, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. A private memorial service is scheduled for the near future. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
