Born July 4, 1960, Eric was a Big Bear resident for 36 years prior to moving to La Quinta, Calif. Eric is survived by his wife, Paula Thompson, La Quinta, Calif., parents, Margie and Don Escher, Yucca Valley, Calif., brother Lloyd Thompson, Friday Harbor, Wash.; sister Darlene Higgins, Big Bear City, Calif., daughters, Jenna and Sarah Thompson, Long Beach, Calif., and son Nathan Thompson, Alejo Viejo. A well known chef in the Big Bear Valley for 22 years and was currently employed by US Foodservice, Eric was also featured in the L.A. Times on many occasions for his culinary expertise. He was truly an icon in his field and enjoyed sharing his passion with everyone he met. Eric was loved dearly by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
