Source Unknown; 1 Mar 1956 Sport Car Crash Kills Passenge Clarence Adams Thornburgh, 32 a passenger in a Triumph TR-2 sport car, was killed last Wednesday evening, February 22, when the car driven by Carl L. Anker, went out of control and overturned pinning Thornburgh underneath. The driver, Carl Anker, told highway patrol officer Byram he lost control of the car on the wet pavement of Rosamond Blvd. near the Edwards Air Force Base. Both men were taken to Edwards Base hospital and the body of Thornburgh was later removed to O'Donnell's Funeral Home in Mojave who later shipped it to Birmingham, Alabama for funeral services.
