California City, California resident Lonnie Ray Tipton passed away on March 6, 
2004 in Lancaster, California. Born on June 7, 1951, in Patuxent River, 
Maryland, he was employed as general manager for Stater Bros. for 10 years and 
was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Lonnie is survived by his wife Joanie Tipton, daughter Kristen Garcia and son 
Joshua Tipton, all of California City; father, Donald Tipton, residing in the  
Philippines, brothers, Jerry Tipton of Georgia, Danny Tipton of San Bernardino; 
sisters Connie Batres of San Bernardino, California, and Sherrie Hicks of 
Georgia. He was predeceased by his mother, Jerrie Reed.
Services will be held on March 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 
of California City by Father John Gracey, with interment at California City 
Memorial Park. 
Lonnie was a beloved husband, father, and best friend. He was loved by many and 
will be truly missed.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Joanie Tipton.
