Source Unknown; Date Unknown May 18, 1923 � Dec. 15, 2004 James Eugene Turman, born May 18, 1923 in Cynthiana, Ind. to Dr. Ira Turman and Grace Emerson Turman, passed away Dec. 15 after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. After serving in the United States Navy as a navigator in World War II's Pacific Theater, he graduated from the University of Southern California and was in marketing sales most of his career. An avid golfer, tennis player, skier, world traveler and a barber shop quartet singer, Jim had a zest for life. He is survived by his beloved wife Holly Smith Turman and two beloved daughters, Pamela (Dan) of Fullerton and granddaughter Ashley; Sally Barrett (Brent) of Ballwin, Mo. and grandsons Brent, Jr., Jeremy, James and Daniel; his sister Lucile Toole and niece Donna Wolff. A memorial service for the immediate family was held in Fullerton.
