Maria Marcos Valadez, a longtime resident of Mojave, California, passed 
away on February 14, 2003 in Lancaster, California.
Maria was born October 7, 1911 in Mexico. Maria was a kind, loving 
woman, who always had a smile on her face. She loved having her family 
around, and enjoyed sitting in her garden. She also loved her bird, "P.J" who 
died on the day of her funeral.
She was predeceased by her husband Simon Valadez Sr., daughter Ruth 
Flores, and grandson John Flores, all of Mojave.
She is survived by 13 children, Tomasa Culpepper of Mojave, Tony 
Valadez of San Diego, California, Esther Trevino of San Antonio, Texas, 
Bennie Valadez of Mojave, John Valadez of Lancaster, Michael Valadez of 
Mojave, Manuel Valadez of Mojave, Phillip Valadez of Mojave, Rita Wyler 
of San Jacinto, California, Simon Valadez Jr. of Stockton California, Margie 
Terry of Mojave, Victor Valadez of Mojave, Jesse Valadez of Mojave, 25 
grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren.
Services were held February 19, 2003 at 10 a.m. Reception followed at 
the Elks Lodge in Mojave.
