Source Unknown; Date Unknown James Villani-Harper, 26, late of Chico California, met his untimely death in a drowning accident at Lake Oroville, California August 28. Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass in Lake Isabella on Saturday, September 16 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Wofford Heights. James grew in Boron, California. He attended Boron High School where he excelled in athletics and graduated in 1992. He graduated from Barstow Community College in 1995. While attending Barstow College he played baseball; coached by his father Frank Villani-Harper. He completed his education at Chico State University where he was a member of the 1997 Chico State NCAA Division Champions. Jamie completed his third year of baseball eligibility while playing in the 1998 College NIAA World Series for Indiana Tech University, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Jamie will be lovingly remembered by his family, friends and acquaintances for his generous spirit, his bright and shining smile, and his avid love of baseball. A Memorial Service was held in Chico on Friday, September 1 during which his family and friends had the opportunity to express their loving thoughts of Jamie. Jamie is survived by his parents, Frank Villani-Harper of San Francisco, Barbara Perham and husband Richard of Lake Isabella, sister Michelle Villani-Harper, brother Frank Harper Jr. and wife Kimberly and their children Conager, Francesca and Kenny, half-brother Richard and children Bonnie and Melinda, half-sister Lori Harper Oswald, husband Dale and their children Jeffrey, Scotty, Bradley, Ashley and Corey. Jamie was preceded in death by his sister Lisa Harper Vaughn. On Friday, September 22 a memorial service will be held on the baseball field of Indiana Tech University. A memorial scholarship fund has been established at the Bank of America, in Lake Isabella.
