Illinois burial held for Katherine Walter
DOWNEY-Burial will be in her hometown of Olney, Illinois for Katherine M. Walter, a longtime Downey 
resident and a friend of the Downey Theater and the Downey Civic Light Opera. 
She was 85, born in Olney on Feb. 13, 1916 and died Feb. 7, 2002 at Suburban Medical Center in 
Paramount after contracting pneumonia which led to congestive heart failure. 
She was the youngest daughter of seven children born to Dora and Adam Pfaum. 
She was an active member of the AARP Seniors Club of Downey, the Paramount Seniors, and was a 
member of the Downey Methodist Church. 
Survivors include three sons; a brother; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous 
nieces and nephews. 
The family requests donations in her memory to the Downey Civic Light Opera, in care of Marsha Moode, 
7903 Second St., Downey, CA
