Source Unknown; Date Unknown Longtime Boron resident Mary Elizabeth Ward passed away at her home in Spring Valley, CA on September 23, 2000. Born in Tyler, TX on September 27, 1929, Mary lived for more than 28 years in Boron and worked as a secretary at Edwards Air Force Base and Muroc Joint Unified School District. Mary also lived for a time in Hesperia and only recently moved to Spring Valley. Married to former Employee Relations Manager for U.S. Borax, Ed Ward, for more than 48 years, Mary was an active member of Boron Bible Church and later the Hesperia Community Church where a memorial service will be held in her honor on October 7 at 10 a.m. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Christine Gibson and John Wesley Hudgins. She is survived by her husband Ed of Spring Valley, CA, a brother Harold Hudgins of Hartley, TX, and her two children Mark Ward of Lancaster, CA and Linda Price of Hesperia, CA. Mary also leaves behind two precious grandchildren. The family has requested that donations be made to the Hesperia Community Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
