Anna passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2000 in Lancaster. "Pioneer" Anna as she was called, came with her parents to Boron in 1935 and opened the first "Mom and Pop" grocery store. She attended Gephart Elementary School in Boron, and rode a bus across Edwards AFB to attend high school at Antelope Valley High School where she graduated in 1942. Anna retired from USAF Civil Service, where she worked for 29 years. Her last position held was Chief of Production Control. She also worked for the election board for several years in Boron. Anna was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Mojave, and the Ladies of St. Francis. She leaves to mourn: a son, Thomas E. Wheeler, of Moorpark, CA; a daughter, Cynthia A. Phillips, of Boron, seven grandchildren, Lisa Richards, Holly Lieva, Jolie Wheeler, Lacey Wheeler, Melissa Baumeister, Lee Phillips, and John Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy Richards, and Nicholas Lieva. Her husband of 39 years, Carl E. Wheeler, mother, Mary Francis, father, William Notthoff, and stepfather, Clarence Francis preceded her in death. Services will be held Saturday, February 12, from 10 a.m. to'11 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church, Mojave. Viewing will be from 9-9:30 a.m. and Rosary will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Arrangements by Stickel Mortuary. Anna H. Wheeler, a resident of Boron, CA for 65-years passed away on February 8. Wheeler in 1981; parents Mary Francis and William Notthoff; and stepfather Clarence Francis. She is survived by her son Thomas Wheeler of Moorpark, CA; daughter Cynthia A. Phillips of Boron, CA; grandchildren Lisa Richards, Holly Lieva, Jolie Wheeler, Lacey Wheeler, Melissa Baumeister, Lee Phillips and John Phillips; great-grandchildren Cassidy Richards and Nicholas Lieva. Services were held on February 12, 2000 at St. Francis in Mojave by Father Mel Corcoran. Internment followed at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster, CA. Arrangements by Stickel Mortuary.
