Marie Pauline Wiley, 88, a thirty-year resident of California City, California, passed away on 
October 11, 1998 in Lancaster, California. She was born in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois.
Ms. Wiley was a council woman of California City for four years and a member of the Order 
of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville J.; son Orville J. Jr., and daughter Delores.
She is survived by her daughters, Ethel (Glenn) Whitaker of California City, Leona Moore of 
Nashville, TN; granddaughters Fay Marie Whitaker of Washington, Kimberly Susan Pritikin of 
Indiana; grandsons Brett Whitaker of California; Jeffrey Moore of Tennessee; six great-grand-
children, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, October 16, 1998, at 1 p.m. at the Community Church of 
California City. A gathering will follow after services at the Solid Ground Community Center.
