Born July 15, 1942, to William Loren Wilkinson and Jean E. Gates in San Bernardino, Calif. Duane was a meat cutter for 40 years employed by Safeway and Costco Wholesale. He was a member of the Teamsters and Meat Cutters Unions. Duane is survived by his wife, Karen, whom he married in Big Bear in May 1983; son Steven of Price, Utah; a brother, William L. Wilkinson Jr. of Granite Bay, Calif; mother Jean Wilkinson of Roseville, Calif., plus three grandchildren. Private services will be held July 2, 2006, in Ruidoso, N.M. The family suggests that donations be made to the Mescalero Apache Tribal Human Services, P.O. Box 228, Mescalero, N.M. 88340.
