Clyde was born in Cleveland, Ohio,
on March 14, 1934. He left us peacefully in the early morning hours on
Sept. 11, 2011, at his home in Big Bear, the place he loved the most on
this Earth. He is held in love by his wife, Beth, sons David and
Christopher and three grandchildren, Jason, Graham and Madison.
Clyde joined the Air Force in 1953 and was stationed at March Air Force
base. By 1955 he had met and taken in love with Beth and California. He
promised never to leave either one of them and he kept his promise.
After eight years in the Air Force he started his own business and was
self-employed until retiring and moving to Big Bear. He knew they had
found a "Forever Home" in this special place. He got bored
with fishing and took up gardening, with a vengence. He soon found peace
and joy in the garden, tending roses and flowers he planted by the hour.
Clyde loved his family, his mountain home and his garden and they will
all miss his loving tender touch.
Graveside service is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. at
Gold Mountain Memorial Park, 370 Maple Lane, Big Bear City, Calif. Big
Bear Mortuary, directors.
