Paul C. Bernhart Jr.

Paul C. Bernhart Jr.

passed on Aug. 23, due to complications from diabetes. Paul has been a resident of Big Bear on and off for the last 25 years. He was born in 1954 in Newport Beach, Calif., where he lived much of his life.

Paul was an extremely talented athlete. When he wasn't tearing up the black diamond slopes of Snow Summit in the winter, he was water skiing in the summer, avoiding the Lake Patrol doing dock starts from the family lake house. Down the mountain you could often find him surfing off of Huntington Beach and other areas. Paul was also a gifted mechanic and craftsman. He could fix any motor, from wristwatches to car engines.

At the end of his life, Paul was in the middle of writing a book on spiritualism and beings from "the other side." We hope that now that he is on "the other side," he is finding the answers he sought during his life.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Megan, and grandson, Hunter.

A memorial service will be held for Paul this Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at the Gold Mountain Memorial Park, 370 N. Maple Lane, Big Bear City. All those who were close to Paul are invited to come.
