On June 30, 2011, Steve Bircsak passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a
loving husband to Judy, a devoted father to Zoltan and Attila, a good friend to many and an
outstanding ath-lete. Steve was born in Hungary in 1946 and came to America in 1967. He
proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was well known for his great sense
of humor and for making everyone laugh at his jokes.
He loved being the life of the party. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. His great
love was soccer and he channeled this love of the sport by mentoring hundreds of aspiring
young athletes to share his passion. Steve understood the hard work and perseverance that
was needed to become the best. He asked this sacrifice not only of himself but the students he
Steve believed that coaching and helping these students should not be hampered by financial
constraints. In lieu of flowers, the Bircsak family is requesting donations be made to the Steve
Bircsak Youth Soccer Memorial Fund. Please help the family continue his legacy by providing the
opportunity for young aspiring athletes to attend youth soccer camps and achieve their dreams.
Steve is survived by his wife, two sons and his brother, Bela.
