With his family beside him, Bob Carlson left us as he 'drove his Model A' to heaven on
Feb. 4, 2011. He was born in Chico, Calif., Nov. 15, 1940.
Thirty-six years ago he met the love of his life, Karen Allen, and they were married in 1974.
They moved to Big Bear in 1991. There he had a fulfilling life with family, friends and co-workers,
Model A's and motorcycles.
His children Kayla and Bill consider him to be an awesome dad, he was always there for them,
putting their needs ahead of his.
Bob had a gruff exterior and a soft interior; everyone knew he was just a big teddy bear.
was always available to those needing help. Many of the school children knew him as 'Mr. Clean.'
Survived by his wife, Karen Carlson, son, Bill Carlson, daughter, Kayla Martinez, son-in-law,
Rene Martinez, all of Big Bear, daughters, Dana Bernard and Chrystal Carlson, granddaughter, Casondra
Bernard, in-laws, Emmett and Donalee Allen.
A celebration of Bob's life will be Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Big Bear Elementary School,
40940 Pennsylvania Ave., Big Bear Lake.
Please bring an hors d'oeuvre or dessert to share. In lieu of flowers, an account has been
established at Alaska Credit Union under Bob Carlson memorial to assist the family with expenses.
