Eleanor E. Cleaver
known as "Nana" to her grandchildren, passed away Nov. 28, 2010. She was born June 29, 1917 in Verona, N.D.,
where she was raised on a small farm. In 1930, her family came to Los Angeles, Calif. She married her husband,
Donald Cleaver, in 1937. Our family came up to the mountains in 1960, where she and her husband owned and
operated Big Bear Disposal Company in the '60s and '70s. The last 30 years of her life was spent in Redlands,
Calif., where she was able to devote much time to her three granddaughters. Loving, caring and mentally sharp
are the ways she will be remembered most.
Laid to rest next to her husband of 73 years at Montecito Memorial Park, she is survived by her son Donald of
Big Bear Lake, daughter Colleen Kinney of Redlands, granddaughters Nicole Elloway of Hillsboro, Ore., Jennifer
Skidmore of Perris, Calif.,
and Amy Skidmore of Fairview, Ore. She had a long and colorful life and will be missed
greatly by many.
