Sherri Lynne Field

Sherri Lynne Field

Sherri Lynne (Johnson) Field, of Big Bear, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 4, 2010, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was born on Dec. 4, 1967, in Waynesboro, PA to Larry Johnson and the late Adele "Cookie" (Oberholzer) Lehman. Sherri graduated from Greencastle-Antrim High School in 1985 and completed coursework at both Hagerstown Community College and University of Phoenix. Following graduation, Sherri served with the U.S. Army Reserve. She was previously employed with Citicorp in Hagerstown, MD and Kansas City, MO. Sherri was an entrepreneurial spirit, who also developed personal businesses in Mary Kay and Amway. Of all the work Sherri had done through the years, her most cherished was that of mother and wife. She was dedicated to the personal and educational development
of her children, taking part in their sporting activities, acting as president of the PTA and eventually home-schooling as her health would allow. Sherri was a motivational spirit, who touched many lives and was well known to provide strength to others during her own battle with cancer. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Sherri is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Mark R. Field; her three children Samantha Nicole, Mark Dillon and Wyatt Preston, all at home; her brother Jeff (husband to Michelle) Johnson of Waynesboro, PA; her sisters, Becky (wife to Kenny) Rippeon of Hagerstown, MD, and Carrie (wife to Dwayne) Tressler of Greenscastle, PA; maternal grandparents Preston and Thelma Oberholzer; Mark's parents, Mark and Hillary Field; Mark's sisters Susan Spiewak and Rona (wife of Brian) Panza; 11 nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and her extended family at Summit Christian Fellowship in Big Bear.

A memorial service and celebration of life was held at Summit Christian Fellowship (41985 Garstin Dr, Big Bear Lake, CA) on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. An additional service will be held in Greencastle, PA, at the convenience of the family.
