Kathleen "Penny" Gamblin-Corey

Kathleen "Penny" Gamblin-Corey
Born Jan. 16, 1925, in Fort Fairfield, Maine. Passed Sept. 24, 2011, in Big Bear Lake, Calif.

Grandma "Penny" lived in Alhambra and Apple Valley, Calif., during her married life, then moved to Big Bear Lake, Calif., for her retirement years. She loved winter in Big Bear as it brought back her childhood memories of snowplay days in Maine. She was a talented tap dancer, seamstress, homemaker (mostly known for her homemade donuts), and she loved to yodel. She was most proud of her role as Grandmother. Her favorite animals were dogs and deer.

She is survived by her sons John (Anne) Corey of Big Bear Lake and James (Susie) Corey of Tujunga, Calif.; grandchildren Julie Corey-Grooms and John Grooms, Wendy Corey and Brian Gilligan, Jason Corey and Joni Ramirez-Corey, Timothy Corey and Bethany Gray-Corey, John Seman, Jarrod Seman and Kristy Wolfe-Seman, Shawn Davis and Luciana Braga-Davis; and great-grandchildren Isabel and Thomas Corey, Mackenzie and Carissa Grooms, Jacob and Jordan Gilligan, Ethan Wolfe-Seman, Madison, Rylin and Brayden Seman, and Sofia Davis.

Our "Deer"est mother, grandmother and friend "Penny" will surely be missed by all.
