Frank J. Gilpatric, Sr.
Gilpatric – Funeral services were held Monday in Los Angeles for Frank J. Gilpatric Sr., 86, one of California’s oldest native sons who was born in Sutter County. He died last Friday in Good Samaritan hospital, Los Angeles. Frank Gilpatric of Yuba City survives his father as do the widow, Mrs. Hattie Gilpatric of Los Angeles; another son, George of Vacaville; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Born in Sutter County in 1866, the senior Gilpatric lived there until 1905 when he moved to Washington State and took up wheat farming near Harrington. He became sheriff of Lincoln County, Washington, and served in that post for 14 years. He was a member of Harrington Laurel lodge, F&A.M. Since retirement he had lived with his wife at 616 North Larchmont Blvd., Los Angeles.
