Jane Louise Haldeman-Cooke

Jane Louise Haldeman-Cooke

A contagious smile, a spirit of hope and determination, and a heart filled with love and laughter that overwhelmed each moment - all of these characterized a beautiful person who peacefully transcended into the arms of the Lord on July 1, 2011. Jane Louise (Campbell-Haldeman) Cooke was born to Walter and Lorraine Campbell in 1956. Her early years were spent in Upland, Calif., where she graduated from Upland High School in 1974. Upon graduation, she relocated to Big Bear Lake where she took a position working for Continental Telephone Company. As her career flourished and she was honored with several outstanding achievement awards, her life also was enriched with the birth of her only child, Jason, who was the center of her life. In the early 1990s,
she found her life's love, Kevin Cooke, whom she married in 2004. Her profession and a new life with Kevin brought her to the Palm Springs area where she continued to thrive in a career with Verizon. It goes without saying that she embraced her professional life with passion and dedication leading up to an early retirement. As she entered retirement, Jane built a life around family and friends who came to cherish Jane's enchanting smile, her kind soul and a special sensitivity for others before self. All were blessed to have known her. No matter what was going on, Jane always called just to say, "I love you."

Her father, Walter, precedes Jane in death. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Kevin, of Palm Springs; her beloved son, Jason Haldeman and Nancy Planellas, along with Jane's precious grandson, Jasper, of Big Bear Lake; stepchildren Ryan, Aaron, and Kelly; grandchildren Ian, Blaise, Katie, Ashley, Morgan, Sophia and Alexa; her mother, Lorraine of San Luis Obispo; her sisters Bonnie Woodson (Santa Barbara), Sue Miller-Born (Redding) and Sandra Burgess (Pinon Hills); and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and good friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Big Bear Community Church in Big Bear Lake on July 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. Jane would want everyone to live their lives with joy and laughter in her memory.
