Paul George Halliday
90, passed away on Feb. 11, 2012. He leaves behind his wife Diana Halliday; 2 sons, 4 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 21, 1921, his family moved to Riverside and then to Escondido where he spent his childhood. He was president of his senior class at Escondido High School in 1940.
He served in WWII and Korean War. After 20 years, he retired in 1960 as a Chief Petty Officer. He went back to school and earned a masters degree in education and taught in the San Diego area for 24 years. Still not ready to stop serving he worked with the developmentally disabled for the last 12 years of his working life. He then moved to Big Bear Lake to retire.
Paul loved the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God who humbled himself and came to this world to save sinners. This savior is Jesus Christ, who hung on a cross and died to pay the penalty for sinners that repent and believe in Him. Paul lived sacrificially for his family, always considering them over himself.
