Ralph W. Haupt

Ralph W. Haupt

80, born Sept. 4, 1932 and passed away May 27, 2013, after a courageous year battling pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy. Ralph also left behind three sons, two daughters, two stepsons, one stepdaughter and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Haupt family moved to Big Bear from Arcadia in 1976 buying two gas stations, one in Big Bear, which was later sold and Moonridge Fuel, which they still own.
Ralph had been in the gasoline business for nearly 55 years and was therefore still very "old school" believing customers should not have to pump their own gas or pay an extra 10 per gallon to use their credit cards. That policy still remains at Moonridge Fuel. He was a very caring and generous person who will be greatly missed by family, friends and business associates.

Ralph and Patsy loved traveling in their motohome, which usually included grandchildren and at least two dogs. Ralph was born and raised in rural Missouri, so that was a trip they enjoyed most.
