J. Thomas Hoover

67, of Big Bear, Calif., passed on April 10, 2012. He was born April 15, 1944, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Genevieve Cohorst-Kelso and the late J Thomas Hoover. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1960s. Tom was employed by Safeway, Carrs, and Albertsons Markets from a box boy to V.P. - he enjoyed working and doing what he did best. He also volunteered for the Big Bear Lake Citizens on Patrol. Tom had a kind and lively spirit. From sailing to golf (he loved playing in the Golf League at Bear Mountain) he infused his life with activity, friendships and family. We all enjoyed and will miss his captivating stories and witty jokes.

He was also blessed with many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved stepfather Earl Kelso and brother John Kelso.
