was born on May 6, 1951. She was an amazing wife to her husband, and one of the coolest people to ever become a mother of two. She was born in Santa Monica, Calif., to Betty and Fred Kennedy. She also had an older brother named Jim Kennedy. She graduated from Garden Grove High School, class of '69, and went on to do sales and technical illustrations. She married Daniel Hoxie in 1984, he still wears the ring. In the summer of 2008 they decided to live a life up in the mountains becoming new entrepreneurs with the Log Cabin Restaurant. She loved Big Bear and the locals and she considered it "Home." Many walked in through those doors to see her in her usual seat, folding silverware, ready to give a hug at a moment's notice. A special drink will always be available in her name there.
Colleen loved penny slots, especially in Las Vegas. She loved to travel, but also loved just kicking her feet up. She loved antiques, Disneyland, and how beautiful the scenery was when it snowed. Her sense of humor cannot be described in words, but with the multiple laughs she shared with everyone who came in contact with her.
She was as sweet as candy, always giving everyone more than expected. If someone needed comforting, cheering up, or a solid push forward, she always gave her skills of listening, joking around, or advice to get that person where they need to go.
Colleen passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at 7:37 p.m. She will have a celebration of life on Jan. 3, 2013, at the Log Cabin Restaurant.
Thanks for the laughs, the memories and for being the wonderful person you were.
