Beverly Ann Johnson
passed away Wed-nesday, April 11, 2012. Bev was born in West Hollywood, Calif., the only child of Oliver and Evelyn Harrison.
Beverly grew up in the mountain community of Big Bear Lake, where she was a cheerleader and graduate of Big Bear High School, and she also represented the city as ďMiss Big Bear.Ē After graduation she moved to Los Angeles, and in 1957 she met and married the love of her life Donald Loren Johnson. Beverly had three daughters, Laurie, Patty and Stacy. In 1969 the family moved from Los Angeles back to Big Bear where her husband, Don, worked as the fire chief, and she worked as a bookkeeper. In 1979 the family moved to Corona where Bev and Don lived until their retirement in 1995. The pair traveled in retirement, RVing and taking cruises for 3 years before settling in Palm Desert in 1998, where they lived until Donís passing on Christmas Eve 2007.
Bev loved to read and it was a passion she passed on to her daughters. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and crocheting, (she made Afghans for friends and family) and of course traveling. Her husband, Don, was involved in Rotary and the Elks Lodge in Big Bear. Bev was a loving wife, and a vital part of her husbandís campaign for presidency of the Western Fire Chiefs Association. In raising their daughters, Bev and Don took trips and cruises all over the world creating a memorable childhood. Her daughters remember their Momís Vegetable Lasagna and Peanut Butter Pork Chops.
Bev was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Donald Loren Johnson, and daughter Laurie Bishop. Bev is survived by daughters Patricia Cordova and Stacy Queen; four grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren. Please remember Bev with a donation to Muscular Dystrophy Association at:
