Ronald B. Keyson
80, was born Oct. 31, 1930, in New York, passed away on Friday, June 10, at home in Big Bear
under hospice care after five weeks in the hospital following cancer surgery. He died peacefully
holding his wife, Judy's, hand and in the presence of his caring hospice nurse. He has been
courageously fighting cancer for over nine years and was an inspiration to all.
Ron loved life, his family, God, traveling and his many hobbies and activities. He served as an
Elder at the Presbyterian Church and participated on the Mission Committee. He loved clocks and
enjoyed repairing and restoring them for friends and relatives. Ron was a member of a worldwide
technical society (SAMPE) for many years and served as the president in 1995. He also loved being
on the board of the Big Bear Habitat for Humanity. When we retired to Big Bear in October of 1994,
Ron said, "I'm not ever leaving Big Bear except in a pine box." Ron got his wish.
He was loved and will be so missed by his wife, Judy, of almost 34 years, his children Debra (Frank), Lauren (Jim), Ronnie, Lori (Dan) and Jeff, and his 10 grandchildren: Danielle, Michelle, Maxi, Ryan,
Katelyn, Taylor, Madison, Ashland, Colton and Luke. He is also survived by his brother Irwin (Rhoda)
and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Big Bear on Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m.
His ashes will be scattered in the ocean at a later date.
You are loved dear Ron, and we will all miss you forever.
