Peter Michael Parks
62, passed away in an auto accident in Lucerne Valley, Calif., on Thursday, July 28, 2011.
He was born in New Jersey on March 7, 1949, to Claude and Billie Parks, both deceased.
The family later moved to Washington, D.C.
Peter attended Whittier College and U.C. Berkeley. For many years he owned Peter Parks
Construction building quality homes. He currently owned and operated Greenlight Electric
Corp. specializing in biomass, wind and solar power.
In 1989 Peter married Karin Svege of New Jersey. They had three children, Scott, Molly
and Teddy, who have all grown up in Big Bear. Peter loved his family more than anything.
He had a passion for flying and flew small planes in years past. He greatly enjoyed athletics,
animals, dancing, music and playing guitar. He appreciated good friends and nature, and
was a very talented writer of poetry. The past year of his life was one of agonizing grief over
the loss of his and Karin's first born son, Scott Claude Parks, who passed away unexpectedly
at age 20 on Aug. 9, 2010, in Big Bear City.
Peter is survived by his ex-wife, Karin Parks; daughter Molly Parks, 19, and son Teddy Parks,
16, all of Big Bear City. Molly attends Northern Arizona University and Teddy is a junior at BBHS.
He is also survived by his siblings Sunny, Cindy, Chris, Lisa, Will and Wendy who all live in
different locations across the U.S.
Dad, Peter, you are loved and missed by your family and friends more than words can say for
the precious qualities that made you, you! May you rest in peace.
