Eleanor Payne passed away peacefully in her home on June 8. She was a native of Canada.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Gordon Victor Payne; her parents, Sofia and Verner Lovgren; brothers, Kurt (Marguerite) and Paul (Dorothy); sister, Dagmar (Donald).
Survived by her loving and devoted sons, Howard (Susan) and Andrew (Carrie). Dear sister to her brother Harry and sisters, Annie Mothersill and Violet Allen (Harold), of Canada. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and their families.
Eleanor resided in Newark for 41 years. She lived in Cartagena, Colombia for five years, where her husband was employed by a subsidiary of Standard Oil of N.J. Before moving to Newark they lived in Phoenix, AZ for seven years.
Gordon, Eleanor and their son Howard immigrated in the U.S. in 1959. She was a member of the Red Hats, Ardenwood Historic Farm and Tri-City Womens Club.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 11:00am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, 94536.
