Penny Sue Pebley stepped into heaven on Nov. 16, 2012. She was born in Fullerton, Calif. On August 26, 1954 to Robert and Gretta Askey. She moved to Big Bear City with her family in 1960 where she graduated from Big Bear High School in 1972. Penny married the love of her life Jim Pebley on July 10, 1976 at the First Baptist Church of Bear Valley. They lived for the next few years in Los Angeles County and then in the High Desert where Penny co-owned a salon before returning to Big Bear to raise their two sons. Everyone knew how much Penny adored her sons... like a mama bear and her cubs.

She owned and operated Ten Penny Nails for many years, working long hours and always striving to be the best at everything she did. If you were a client in those days she probably gave you a nick name like she did the rest of us. Penny had a great sense of humor and always kept us laughing. She also co-owned Jeep Tour with her dear friend Donna Kelsey. Penny touched many lives and loved her family and friends deepy.

She is survived by her husband Jim Pebley, daughter Julie Brard, parents Robert and Gretta Askey, brother Bruce Askey, sister Robin Morgan and extended family and friends. Penny was preceded in death by her sons Jeremiah and Robert Pebley.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1p.m.
