William Robert (Bob) Pierce
Born Oct. 17, 1943, went to be with the Lord March 12, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Bob was a longtime resident of Big Bear and graduate of Big Bear High School.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Morgan (Nila); daughter, Holly Nelson (Danny); grand-children Anthony, Destiny, Abigail and Lucas and "many" friends.
Bob was the kind of man who made you comfortable when you met him. It was said that you felt you'd known him for years. A few young people called him "Uncle Bob." He became known as "Uncle Bob" to their friends. He was always kind and willing to go out of his way to help.
Bob was an avid motorcycle enthusiast (his wording) and could often be seen out riding with his long beard parted down the middle and flying behind him.
In the 1970s Bob was part owner of a custom motorcycle shop in the San Fernando Valley. He built a custom bike for a huge show in L.A. and won first place for the bike. He did a lot of custom paint jobs on cars and motorcycles. He eventually gave it up and became a drywaller.
Bob, you will be greatly missed and our lives are better for knowing you. Rest in peace our friend.
Service in celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at Community Church's chapel at 40946 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake.
