Arthur Prothero, 86, of Sutter died May 17, 2006, at Rideout Memorial Hospital.
A member of the Yuba City Veterans of Foreign Wars, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Carraway of Yuba City and Penny Umfress of Sutter; three sons, Daniel Foster of Sutter and Leon Foster and Raymond Edward Foster, both of Honcut; 21 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Prothero; three sisters, Viola Prothero, Dorothy Nigsch and Florence Umfress; and a grandson. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Services: Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City. A graveside service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Ave., Sutter, with military honors provided by Yuba City VFW. Rev. Marvin Long will officiate.
