Robert H. Randle
“Coach Bob,” ran his race and finished well, departing this life on Sept. 11, 2013.
Bob was born on May 6, 1951, to Enoch and Dimple Randle in New Albany, MS.
He was the youngest child of the family, having an older sister and brother. Bob graduated from the prominent Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, where he played football.
Bob moved to Big Bear in 1989, where he worked as a CPA. He was also a soccer coach for his children as well as a volunteer coach for the Big Bear High cross country team. He had such an impact on these athletes, that just a month ago he was honored by past and present runners at their alumni race.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Denise Ann Randle of Big Bear Lake, a son and daughter in-law, Cory and Trisha Randle of Big Bear Lake, a daughter, Kasey Randle Allen of Napa, Calif., and three beloved grandsons: Nathan, Jordan and Owen Randle, of Big Bear Lake. Bob also leaves behind a brother and sister in-law, Thom and Linda Randle of Hilo, Hawaii, and a beloved sister and brother in-law, Ann and Albert Poche of Ponchatoula, La. Bob will also be lovingly remembered by a number of cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Bob will be remembered as a being a life-long athlete, marathon runner and a mentor. His positive outlook on life and his sense of humor continued into his last days and will never be forgotten. Bob loved life and lived it to the fullest leaving nothing behind but happy memories with the ones he loved and cherished.
Because Bob was so passionate about running, a memorial fund, The Bob Randle Cross Country Foundation, has been established to benefit the Big Bear High cross country team. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the foundation to support our present and future athletes. Please contact Donna Corley at First Mountain Bank of Big Bear Lake, Calif. for more information. She may be reached at (909) 866-5861 or P.O. Box 6868, Big Bear Lake, CA, 92315.
