David Yeoman Ridley
Resident of Fremont

David Yeoman Ridley entered into rest February 12, 2011 at his home in Fremont, CA. A Fremont resident since 1956. Born November 20, 1922 to Welborn and Grace Ridley in Detroit Michigan, he was 88 years old. David attended Detroit Mackenzie High School, Detroit Institute of Technology and St. Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the United States Air force as a flight officer from 1942-1945 during WWII and recalled in 1951-1953. He met the love of his life, Clara Mae Mullins at the Methodist Fellowship Port Huron Camp in 1950 where he served as Vice President of the Detroit Conference for Westlawn Methodist Church. They married in 1951 and were happily married until she preceded him in death in January 2010. He never took off his wedding ring. David was employed by the Chrysler Corporation and Volkswagen of America in Corporate Management. After retiring, he began a 10-year career in Real Estate. David was a member of Irvington Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He enjoyed photography and developing, woodworking, building furniture, music and singing. His creativity was endless. He loved to make people laugh with his witty sense of humor. He was devoted to his family and loved children. Loving and devoted father of Colleen Ridley of Fremont, CA and David T. Ridley and his wife Peggy of Alpharetta, GA. Caring grandfather of David A. Ridley. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Berge - Pappas - Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842, Fremont, CA, on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 1-5pm. Burial service will be held at Irvington Memorial Cemetery, Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11am. Memorial Services will follow at Irvington Presbyterian Church at 12:30 pm.
