Brian Russell Wolf

of Big Bear City, passed away on July 21, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Brian was born and raised in Downey, Calif., on Dec. 7, 1968.

He joined Downey Fire Department after high school, where he continued to work as Battallion Chief until his passing. He had a passion for firefighting.

In 1991, Brian met the love of his life and soul mate, April. He moved to Big Bear where they married and started their family, McKenzie and Logan. Brian had a wickedly wonderful sense of humor, an infectious smile, and was loved by so many. He loved spending time with his family, Dallas Cowboys football, boating, watching movies and his job. Brian could always be found at the sidelines of his children’s sporting events and spent several years coaching Big Bear Youth Football. He was a hero in every sense of the word, not only to his family and friends, but to the countless people he helped during his career with the Downey F.D.

Brian always put others first. Brian is survived by his wife of 20 years, April; daughter, McKenzie; son, Logan, all of Big Bear City; mother, Gayla Emerson (Stephen) of Downey; father, Gary Wolf of Los Angeles; sister, Amy Wolf of Downey; sister, Markie Rudolph of Downey; grandfather; Don Russell of Downey and many family and friends. Brian made a huge impact on the lives of so many and will be missed more than words could ever describe. We love you, Brian.
