Mrs. Yates Dies in Her Meridian Home
Mrs. Mabel Bradshaw Yates, 84, longtime Meridian resident, died late yesterday afternoon at her home. A native of Oregon, she had lived in Meridian 55 years. She leaves her husband, John H. Yates; two children, John Perry Yates of San Francisco and Francis H. Yates of Meridian; four grandchildren; Alden P. Yates of Los Angeles, Don B. Yates of Stanford University, John Yates of Meridian and Oroona Yates of Meridian. She was a member of the Christian Church. The body was brought to the McNary Memorial chapel here. Mrs. Yates also had three great grandchildren. Services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock at the McNary Memorial chapel with burial in Meridian Cemetery. Mrs. Yates came from a family who produced several professors. Her father was one but died when he was about 30. Her uncle, Joseph Bradshaw, was on the faculty at Pierce Christian College in College City. He taught mathematics and astronomy.
