Patterson Irrigator, 05/12/2011, p 11 Robert A. Arambel March 14, 1925 April 16, 2011 Former Patterson resident Robert A. Arambel, 86, died April 16 at his home in Washington state, where he was under hospice and family care after a short illness. At his request, no services are planned. Mr. Arambel was born in Canoga Park to Carid Paul and Edna (Meadows) Arambel. Mr. Arambel moved from Southern California as a child and attended local schools, graduating from Patterson Union High School in 1942. He married his high school sweetheart Geraldine, known as “Jerry,” in 1943. Mr. Arambel farmed in the Patterson area and was very active in the community. In 1967, the couple moved to Pasco, Wash., where he bought farmland, was active in forming the CBC Foundation and sold commercial real estate until he retired in 2004. He also enjoyed snow skiing, tennis and golf. Mr. Arambel is survived by his daughters , Janet Austin, and her husband, Paul, Nancy Stell, and her husband, Eric, and Claudia Vinti, and her husband, Gary; brother, Harold Arambel, and his wife, Laura, of Westley; sister, Carol Halseth, and her husband, Emerald; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
