Vincent Esquer Fernandez, Jr. Sept. 2, 1936 — Jan. 7, 2011
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 14, for Vincent Esquer Fernandez, Jr., 
74, of Patterson, who died Jan. 7 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
 
Mr. Fernandez was a native of Burrel and lived in Patterson for 45 years. He was a truck driver 
for 50 years, working for Austin Trucking, H&M Trucking and Car Tel Trucking. He was a parishioner 
of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and traveling.
Mr. Fernandez is survived by his sons, Stephen Dias of Modesto, Vincent Fernandez III of Seattle, 
Wash. and Victor Fernandez of Patterson; daughters, Nancy Del Real of Turlock and Mary Rodriguez 
of Patterson; brothers, Salvador Fernandez of Fresno and Eddie Fernandez of Firebaugh; sisters, 
Mary Ellen Montoya, Sallie Garcia, Penny Juarez, Marion Salud, Rose Vergara, Adelina Jimenez, Linda 
Lopez and Virgie Tkmeblingson, all of Fresno; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Belia Fernandez, who died in 1997; his parents, Vincent and 
Adela Fernandez; two siblings, Joe Fernandez and Jessie Lopez; and a granddaughter.
Friday’s Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St. Burial will follow in 
Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33. Visitation will be observed from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, 
Jan. 13, followed immediately by the recitation of a rosary, at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las 
Palmas Ave.
