Patterson Irrigator, 12/08/2011 p 11 Miguel Valencia Granillo Sr. March 16, 1929 — Nov. 29, 2011 died 2011 11 29 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 5, for Miguel Valencia Granillo Sr., 82 of Manteca, who died Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Mr. Granillo was a native of Brawley and lived in Manteca for 30 years. He was married Aug. 16, 1953, worked at Emerald Halseth Farms in Vernalis from 1953 1969 and then for the U.S. Postal Service from 1969 2000. Mr. Granillo was a member of the KWV Association of Modesto, a U.S. Army, a Korean War veteran and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. Mr. Granillo enjoyed gardening and playing on the computer. Mr. Granillo is survived by his wife, Lucia Granillo of Manteca; sons, Miguel V. Granillo Jr. and wife, Leanna of Tracy, Pablo Granillo and wife, Treva of Ripon; daughters, Barbara A. Sherohman and husband, John of Livermore, Rose M. Sefcik and husband, Joseph of Tracy; brother, Antonio E. Granillo and wife, Virginia of Sacramento; sister, Amelia V. Rodea and husband, Damacio of Patterson; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond V. Granillo and Arturo V. Granillo and sisters, Amnuela G. Minjarez, and Soledad G. Tova. A visitation will be observed from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., Patterson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 110 a .m. that day at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St., Patterson. Burial will follow at Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33, Patterson. Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., Patterson, is handling the arrangements.
