Patterson Irrigator, 03/24/2011, p 15 John Vincent Jurevich August 1956 — March 2011 A funeral service is planned Friday, March 25, for former Patterson resident John Vincent Jurevich, of Turlock, who died recently in San Leandro. Mr. Jurevich, 54, was born in San Jose to Ivan and Marjorie Jeannette Jurevich. He attended schools in Patterson and graduated from Patterson High School. He attended Modesto Junior College, and after completing his studies, he met and married Toni Azevedo. They moved to Turlock in 1991. Mr. Jurevich drove the city bus in Modesto for 12 years. For the past 14 years, he was a truck driver for Mello Turf Co. in Patterson. In his personal time, Mr. Jurevich enjoyed drag racing and restoring old cars, and he had nearly completed the restoration of a classic Barracuda. Also a big fan of NASCAR racing, Mr. Jurevich had worked on the pit crew for Harry Holton Racing since 1976. Mr. Jurevich is survived by his wife of 26 years, Toni Jurevich of Turlock; father, Ivan Jurevich, and his wife, Eve Kelley, of Patterson; siblings, Jeanine May, Elise Jurevich D’Anna, and her husband, Jim, and Cathy Jurevich, all of Modesto, and Tom Jurevich, and his wife, Robin, of Turlock; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Jeannette Jurevich. Visitation will be observed from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway, in Turlock. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. An online guest book is available at www.allenmortuary.com.
