Patterson Irrigator, 01/13/2011, p 14 J. Guadalupe Lomeli Oct. 11, 1931 — Jan. 8, 2011 A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 18, for J. Guadalupe “Don Lupe” Lomeli of Grayson, who died Saturday, Jan. 8, at his home. Mr. Lomeli, 79, was a native of Jalisco, Mexico, and had lived in Grayson 55 years. He worked 50 years as a farm laborer. Mr. Lomeli was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and music. Mr. Lomeli is survived by his wife, Eva Lomeli of Grayson; sons, Arturo Lomeli of Patterson and Jorge Lomeli of Modesto; daughters, Lilia Lomeli Gil of Grayson and Alicia Perez of Newman; brother, Raul Lomeli of Mexico; sister, Aurora Mendez of Riverbank; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Tuesday’s Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St. Burial will follow in Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33. Visitation will be observed from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at the church, followed by the recitation of a rosary at 7. Hillview Funeral Chapel of Patterson, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., will handle arrangements. Contributions in Mr. Lomeli’s name may be sent to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
