Eleanor Orofilia Plaza

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 12, for Eleanor Orofilia cq Plaza, 81, of Patterson, 
who died Wednesday at her daughter’s home.
Mrs. Plaza was a native of Hawaii and a resident of Patterson for 56 years. She was a homemaker for 61 years 
and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. She was a member of California Women for 
Agriculture and Gem & Mineral Society, and she enjoyed growing fruits and vegetables for farmers markets.
Mrs. Plaza is survived by her sons, Robert Plaza of Modesto and Tim Plaza and Tony Plaza, both of Patterson; 
daughter, Gail Chaney of King City; brothers, Richard Lara and Fred Lara, both of Westley, Eddie Lara and Paul 
Lara, both of Patterson, and Henry Lara of Firebaugh; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Plaza; a son, Lawrence Plaza; and a brother, Ben Lara.
Thursday’s Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St. Burial will follow in Patterson 
District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33. Patterson’s Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., will handle 
arrangements.
