Lived at Newman; Got Tired; Hanged Himself The Newman Index chronicles the death of Hin Chong, 
a member of the Chinese colony there, who committed suicide last week by hanging himself. 
Remembering what the Index said a short time ago when a Chinaman committed suicide in Patterson, 
we should take advantage of the opportunity to remark that Hin Chong had found Newman a better 
place to die in than to live in; that he could save no money there and that  the climate made him sick.
But of course we shall not say these things. We will be more generous than the Index, and refrain 
from “humorous” comment.
